Since its inception, our company has believed that high-quality results begin with high-quality personnel. From management to field personnel, Carocon staffs the most skilled, knowledgeable people in the business. Several of our project managers and administrators have 25 years of tenure with Carocon and all employees have an average of more than 10 years’ experience with the company. All Carocon project managers are Licensed General Contractors and our field supervisors have extensive experience and have worked on multiple Carocon projects. John Huson has over 50 years of experience in residential construction and related fields. Prior to founding Carocon in 1972, he held executive-level positions as both a Construction Manager and a Developer for several construction and development organizations.
Mr. Huson holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Louisville; is a Registered Professional Engineer in Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina; a Licensed General Contractor in North Carolina and South Carolina and holds Real Estate Broker’s Licenses in North and South Carolina. John is also a LEED Certified AP. He is the 2015 recipient of the GCAA Lex Marsh Award. John is a shareholder and a member of the Board of Directors.
Scott Allen has over 28 years of experience in the construction industry. As President he is responsible for the overall day-to-day activities of the corporation. Fostering decades long relationships with our clients and professional service providers and working with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic goals for the company.
Since joining Carocon in 1996, Scott has held numerous positions within the company. Beginning with entry level field positions, advancing to project management, senior level management and executive positions.
Mr. Allen is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a licensed General Contractor in the State of North Carolina. Scott is a full member of the Urban Land Institute. Scott is a shareholder and a member of the Board of Directors.
Amy McKelvey joined Carocon in 1985 and has over 39 years of construction experience. In her current role as the Company’s CFO, she is responsible for the financial control and management of the company. She is an active member of the Charlotte chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), currently serving as Strategic Planning Chair and previously served on CFMA’s National Executive Committee. She was awarded CFO of the Year by the Charlotte Business Journal in 2015.
Mrs. McKelvey holds an Associate’s Degree in Business from Montreat College. Amy is a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors.
David Wheeler has over 42 years of experience in the construction industry. Since joining Carocon in 1996, David has had increasingly responsible roles from Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, Project Superintendent, Project Manager to his current role as Director of Construction/COO. David is responsible for overall construction operations. This includes corporate safety, warranty programs and the training and development of construction personnel. His projects have included condominiums, duplexes, parking deck projects and 300+ unit apartment projects.
Mr. Wheeler currently holds a General Contractors License in both North and South Carolina. David is a shareholder and a member of the Board of Directors.
Sheila Neal has over 38 years of project administration experience. Her primary role is to supervise subcontractor conformance as well as contract administration and reporting. Since joining Carocon in 1986, Sheila has held numerous positions within the company, beginning as receptionist, advancing to project administrator, Vice President of Administration, senior level management and executive positions.
Mrs. Neal graduated from Gaston College in 1995 with an Associate’s Degree in Administrative Office Technology. She also graduated in 2010 from Garner-Webb University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and in 2013 graduated with a Masters of Business Administration. She received a Masters Plus Certificate in December, 2018. She is a Notary Public, member of the Board of Directors, and a shareholder in the Company.
Scott Kavanaugh has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. Since joining Carocon in 2015, Scott has had increasingly responsible roles from Superintendent to Project Manager. His projects have including Single Family, Condominiums and Multifamily Apartment projects. Scott has his OSHA-30 Certification.
He is currently working on the Lake Norman project located in Mooresville, North Carolina.
Karl Mull has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. Since joining Carocon in 2016, Karl has had increasingly responsible roles from Superintendent to Project Manager. His projects have including Single Family and Multifamily Apartment projects across the region. He was also a senior construction manager for an extreme makeover home addition show in Raleigh, NC.
He is currently working on the Mt Holly apartments project located in Mt. Holly, North Carolina.
Brian Edeburn has over 40 years of residential construction experience ranging from high end condos in San Francisco to affordable housing in Savannah Ga. Brian has a Construction Management degree as well as numerous certifications pertinent to the apartment industry. He has developed over 4000 units ranging from student housing to senior housing to all facets of apartments. Brian joined Carocon in 2010 and has progressed from a Superintendent to a Sr Supt to a Project Manager
David Maines has over 45 years of experience in the construction industry and is a Licensed General Contractor in North Carolina. Most of David’s career has been dedicated to the Multifamily market as a Superintendent or as Project Manager, many times performing both roles on various projects throughout the United States.David joined the Carocon team in 2015. David is currently working with Developers on projects in Troutman and Mt. Holly with a total estimated value of over 120 Million Dollars.
Paul Allessio has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Since joining Carocon in 2007, Paul has served in numerous roles from Assistant Superintendent to Project Manager. He is currently working on two projects located in Kannapolis and Huntersville, North Carolina. He currently holds a General Contractors License in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Amanda Hudson has over 22 years of experience in Construction since joining Carocon in 2002. Amanda is currently responsible for managing the Warranty for all of the projects that Carocon completes and is also Carocon’s Safety Director, managing all the Safety and Health programs.
Mrs. Hudson graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs. She also has her General Contractor’s License in the States of North and South Carolina. Amanda is a Certified OSHA Trainer for 10- and 30-hour certifications and holds her CMESH. Amanda is a shareholder in the Company.
Kim Schearer has over 29 years of experience in project administration. Since joining Carocon in 1996, she has acted as the Project Administrator for projects including apartments, condominiums, public housing and office buildings. She is responsible for the company’s Information Technology.
Kim is currently working on the Eastland Yards Senior Living projects in Charlotte, North Carolina and Madison Woods project located in Indian Land, South Carolina.
Mrs. Schearer graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a BA in Marketing in 1995. She also has Associates Degrees in Business Administration and Business Education. She is currently involved with and on the Board of the local Charlotte CFMA chapter. Kim is a Notary Public and a shareholder in the Company.
Alisha Nunnelly joined Carocon in 2012, arriving to the team with over 5 years of experience in Property Management. She is currently working on the Providence Preserve and Mt Holly apartment projects in Charlotte and Mt. Holly, NC.
Mrs. Nunnelly graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor’s in Secondary Math Education. She then received her Master’s Degree in Economics from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also holds a North Carolina Real Estate Broker’s License, has her General Contractor’s License in the State of North Carolina, and is a Notary Public. She is a Certified OSHA instructor for 10- and 30-hour certifications. Alisha is a shareholder in the Company.
Bailey Dunmire joined Carocon in 2019 and brings her office administration experience to the team. She has experience in operations management and accounting. Bailey is currently working as receptionist as well as assisting with other administrative duties.
Mrs. Dunmire graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor’s of Art Degree. She has volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for the past 7 years. Bailey is also a Notary Public.
LeighAnne joined Carocon in 2023 and brings her office administration and management experience to the team. She has 20+ years experience in construction coordination/administration. LeighAnne is currently working with Kim Schearer on the Eastland Yards apartment project in Charlotte, NC.
Ms. Deel attended Spartanburg Methodist College and is a Notary Public.
Valery joined Carocon in 2023 arriving with 5 years of office administration experience in the landscaping sector. Valery graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Miss Solano is also a Notary Public.
Valery is currently working on the Creek Mill Project, located in Concord, NC.
Will Moncure joined Carocon in 2020 and has progressed from a Safety Tech in Training to an Assistant Project Manager. He is currently working on the Lake Norman Multifamily project in Mooresville, NC alongside Senior Project Manager Scott Kavanaugh. Mr. Moncure graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in 2021 with an Associate Degree in Construction Management Technology. He has his OSHA 10- and 30-hour certifications.
